Canvention 37

The privilege of hosting the Aurora Awards and the Canvention has returned to Hal-Con after a long absence in Eastern Canada.

Canvention is the Canadian national science fiction convention, where the Prix Aurora Awards are presented. Normally it is held as part of an existing convention. This includes an AGM for members of the CSFFA (Canadian Science Fiction Fantasy Association), the governing body for the Aurora Awards.

Hal-Con will host a few events over the weekend and we encourage participation.

This includes a private pin ceremony for all attending nominees, followed by an event public social event on Friday, September 22, the Prix Aurora Awards open to the public on Saturday evening, September 23, and an AGM on Sunday, September 24. More details will be announced as they are confirmed.

If you would like to join as a member of the CSFFA to nominate or vote on the shortlisted nominees, please visit their website.

The last time the Prix Aurora Awards were hosted in Atlantic Canada was in 1993 at Wolfcon.
