Steve Scott

Steve Scott could'n't be happier to be apart of Hal-Con! And, you've no doubt seen the work of this amazing comic creator, if you are a fan of the TV show, Smallville. Steve is one of those rare creators who has had the opportunity to transcend the print media, with his penciled work now seen on episodes of the hit show!

Others have known about Steve's work for quite some time via his sequential print illustrations at Malibu comics, and his wildly popular stint on Razor for London Night, as well as New Warriors, Hourman, and JLA for Marvel and DC Comics. Currently, Steve is working on She-Hulk and Hulk projects and will be working on a high profile Uncanny X-men project even as we speak.

With a resume like that, one wouldn't think that up until recently, Steve led a duel life as firefighter by day and artist by night-- for more than sixteen years, in fact! One horrible event brought those two identities together--On September 11, 2001, Steve watched, with the rest of the nation as the Twin Towers fell. Soon afterwards, DC Comics published "The Worlds Finest Comic Book Writers & Artists Tell Stories to Remember." Steve was selected among the few artists to contribute to this historical collection, which was later exhibited in numerous galleries, and is now archived, at the Library of Congress.

Scott has since relocated to the renowned community of artist in Atlanta Georgia, encouraged to pick up the pencil full time by his contemporaries. Immediately, Steve's work began to appear in the pages of DC Comics Shadowpact, the Creeper, Batman Legends of the Dark Knight, and Checkmate. He got a particularly special kick out of bringing to life some of DC Comics strangest characters like Detective Chimp, Rex the Wonder Dog, Rag Man, The Phantom Stranger, Creeper and many others. Recent and current projects at Marvel Comics, and DC Comics include working with industry legends Louise Simonson and Chris Claremont on the titles Magik and Exiles.

In addition to this ever growing list of published comics, cards, and other related illustrations, Steve recently finished a Kyle XY one shot for Disney/ABC with writer Jeff Parker.

Recently featured in an august gallery show in Manhatan's Illustration House along with artists Michael Golden and Mark Texeira, Steve's work will also be featured in a European tour this coming May with Texeira as well.
