Child's PlayHal-Con is a registered not-for-profit organization. A portion of all the convention proceeds will be donated to the IWK Children’s Hospital in Halifax, NS.

We are hosting a Charity Auction on Sunday October 31, 2010 using items donated by the celebrity guests, local companies and shops, as well as participants and vendors of the event. All proceeds of that auction will be donated to the Child’s Play children’s charity at the IWK Hospital.

Kids Need to Read (Information)

Another great cause. One of our guests, author PJ Haarsma, created a foundation called Kids Need to Read. This foundation works to create a culture of reading for children by providing inspiring books to under-funded schools, libraries, and literacy programs across the United States,  especially those serving disadvantaged children.

Hal-Con encourages this campaign and wishes them luck in their endeavour.
