David Godfrey is a local voice actor and composer whose work spans animation, television, and video games. In animation, he is known as Mr. Shy in My Little Pony, the lead character in Blackjack, and Dad in Kate & Mim-Mim. He’s also guided audiences through the excitement (and occasional chaos) as the narrator of Bush Wreck Rescue, Future Code, and The Funny Pit. Gamers may recognize his various performances in Mythic Heroes, Bless Online, and The Incredible Spider-Man, where he proves that saving the world always sounds better with the right voice behind it. You may also recognize his voice from his 23 year tenure as the voice of HMV Canada!
Outside the booth, David composes music that has been featured on some of television’s most recognizable shows, including The Tonight Show, Top Gear, Kroll Show, and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. From high-octane themes to quirky background scores, his music has a knack for setting the right tone and leaving a lasting impression.
David also plays guitar in the local band Str8Up. Keep your eyes open to catch them playing around town. Put simply, David spends his days talking to imaginary friends, saving virtual worlds, and making music, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
